The season of Advent, and end of the year, calls us to examine what we treasure and to direct our resources toward what matters most. As you reflect on opportunities for charitable giving, we would like to offer some tips for year-end planning.

Give to Charitable Organizations

When giving to AdventHealth Kansas City Foundation, 100% of your donation goes to support the programs you choose. In order to ensure that your contribution is recorded in 2024, we recommend:

- Wire Transfers or ACH be initiated before Friday, December 20.
- All checks must be postmarked by Tuesday, December 31 but, must be received in our office by January 3.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Individuals age 70½ and older can make qualified charitable contributions of up to $105,000 annually from their IRAs directly to qualified charities. If you are at least 59½ years old, you can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty, but you will still pay taxes on the distribution. However, if you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift. Find out more at: https://ahkcfoundation.planmylegacy.org/give-from-your-ira

Estate Planning

Planning for the future and creating the legacy you wish to leave is one of the most effective ways to ensure a lasting impact. Making a gift in your will or living trust, known as a bequest, can guarantee that your legacy endures. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. Learn more: https://ahkcfoundation.planmylegacy.org/
